About Me
My name is Bryony Hutchinson. I am a fully qualified hair and makeup artist, and am currently progressing my career within Higher Education for Hair and Media Makeup Artistry, within the Performing Arts.
My main creative outlet within my art is through special effects makeup, however, I also have skills required to be able to effectively work within the industry, and have a wide range of experience in areas such as theatrical productions, bridal/prom glam and editorial makeup for photoshoots.
Work Experience
STOS Theatre Company: Shrek the Musical
12th November 2019 - 16th November 2019
Worked as a makeup artist behind the production of Shrek the Musical for STOS Theatre Company.
- Applies makeup according tp designs by the head makeup artist.
- Took lighting and setting into consideration when applying makeup for theatrical purpose.
- Kept work area clean and sanitized tools between every performer.
- Communicated with head makeup artist to ensure makeup application was up to standard before performer went on stage.
- Helped clean prosthetics for use during the duration of the production.

Young Hangman Productions: Bloodhounds
26th October 2021 - 3rd November 2021
Worked as a hair and makeup artist behind the production of Bloodhounds for Young Hangman Productions.
- Applied makeup and hair according to designs by the director and head makeup artist.
- Took lighting and setting into consideration while applying makeup for theatrical purpose.
- Kept work area clean and tools sanitized between every performer.
- Followed Coronavirus legislations relevant at the time of this production.
- Communicated with the director and head makeup artist to ensure applications were up to standard before performer went on stage.
- Communicated with director during pre-production to ensure designs were laid out in preparation for the performance.
- Worked and communicated within a makeup department/team.

Sheffield College Theatre Company: The Twelve Dancing Princesses Pantomime

Worked as a Head Makeup Artist and Makeup Designer behind the production of The Twelve Dancing Princesses for The Sheffield College Theatre Company.
- Communicated within a management team (makeup department) during pre-production to negotiate designs.
- Communicated with other departments such as costume and lighting to ensure designs worked well together and fit the directors creative visions.
- Communicated with makeup department during pre-production and the duration of the production to manage department and ensure deadlines were being met.
- Employed and organized Level 3 students to help during the duration of the performance.
- Applied makeup according to previously discussed designs approved by the director.
- Took lighting and setting into consideration when designing and applying makeup for theatrical purpose.
- Kept work area clean and sanitized tools between each performer.
- Carried out wig quick changes backstage in between scenes.
